David spends a lot of personal studio time creating Cyanotypes (aka sun prints, lumen prints, etc) using two principle methods: digital films for contact, overlay and dual-exposure printing, and a monotype process similar to photograms, using objects to create prints.

David has learned different printing techniques through traditional and industry experience, which lead David to explore and develop experimental printing techniques, including Wax Transfer printing. He is drawn to this technique because each print bears individual artifacts that are impossible to control or reproduce.

In David’s graduate studies be studied traditional analog forms of printing, including relief printing. He was particularly drawn to Block Printing, and utilizes his handmade paper as the support medium for many of his prints, specifically his studies of pareidolia.
